A FIRST for DCS SPORTS: Congratulations to Matt Summersett for bringing home the AIA first place in Track and Field , discus event, with a throw of 144’11”!!
BASEBALL: The team won the school's first 2A region title and finished the season 18-9-2. The team made it to the third round of the state playoffs. This year the team set multiple offensive and defensive records. Congratulations to the six players that were named to the All South Region team: Mitch Pitney, Brett Radtke, Trevor Beck, Daniel Riebe, Daulton Hopkins, and Calvin Smith. A special congratulations to Trevor Beck who was chosen as the 2A South Baseball Player of the Year and Coach Grant Hopkins named Coach of the year! 
VARSTIY GOLF: Caleb Ferganchick and Jon Goswitz finished in the top 5 in the 1A-3A Golf State Tournament.
The team was 1A-3A Division III State Runners-up. This includes: Jon Goswitz-Jr, Caleb Ferganchick-Sr, Nathan Anderson-Sr, Buddy Burr-Jr and Tim Ebinger-Jr.VARSITY TENNIS
Boys Team - Undefeated for 3rd year in a row in 2A/3A South Region (12-0). Semi-final finish in Team State Competition.

Girls Team - Improved from 6-6 last year with a record of 10-2. It was their first year to make it State Team Tournament since starting 4 years ago - only 8 teams get to go. Made it to the semi-finals of team state beating #1

When you consider that each singles and doubles draw had 94 entries, their accomplishments are truly commendable!
SOFTBALL: The Desert Christian Softball Eagles had a remarkable season where 16 young girls all at various levels of ability and ideas of
softball became a united team of young ladies playing together with one intention and motto – “We will honor Him when we win and we will honor Him when we lose.” And that they did. As a result a true team was developed and the girls made it to the State Playoffs in Phoenix where they eliminated the number 12 team in the state and advanced to the next level. Their verse was Prov 21:31 – “The (eagle) is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord.”
MUSIC FESTIVAL HONORS: Congratulations to DCHS soloists and ensemble members at the AZ HS Solo & Ensemble Music Festival Jan 29, 2011. The Quartet Ensemble (Cameron Stang, Trevor Beck, David Price, and Isaiah Barker) received a “Superior” rating; soloists Cameron Stang and Isaiah Barker received “
WHALE WATCHING - submitted by Elaina Freij and Sarah Shew: “Our whale watching trip in
well as grey whales. During the first day, we spotted and actually sailed through a super-pod of about 500 common dolphins. Many of them rode our bow wake, playing and jumping for an extended period. A group of 3 whales were also spotted, tracked and recorded. Throughout the duration of the second day, our group tracked a pair of female whales for about 4 hours. We observed and recorded their behaviors. Water qualities such as temperature, pH, and visibility were also recorded. We even took a polar bear dip into 57 degree water—jumping from the top deck of the boat!—at the end of the second day! Overall, this trip was both educational, fun, and out of the box!”
