DCHS ADMISSIONS PROCEDURE

Dear Parent,

Thank you for your interest in Desert Christian High School. At DCHS our mission is to disciple young people in the knowledge of God, and to prepare them in all areas of life to impact their world for Jesus Christ. We desire to challenge our students academically; encourage them to deepen their relationship spiritually; to broaden their horizons socially; and to use their God-given talents to bless others locally and globally. We realize that God has ordained the parents to be the primary educators of their children; as such our aim is to come along side the family and assist them in this process.

I would encourage you to come visit our campus and see what God is doing at DCHS. We are located at 7525 E. Speedway Blvd; a tour can be arranged by calling the high school office at (520) 298-5817.

The application procedure for 2010–2011 student admissions is outlined below.  Should you decide to apply, you may print the required forms which are located at the end of this page or call our office to have them mailed to you.

CANDIDACY REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCEPTANCE:

An application is considered complete when all parts of the application packet are received at Desert Christian High School.  After Admissions Committee review, qualified candidates will be contacted by mail or phone to schedule a family interview.  A placement exam will be required (time and date to be announced).  Families will be notified by mail of the final acceptance decision in early-April.

This packet contains your school application forms. The forms must be complete and submitted to the appropriate school office.  Once the packet has been verified as complete, an interview will be scheduled. After the interview is complete, you will be informed by letter of your student’s admission status.  We are not able to guarantee space until your student has been officially accepted.  Your portion of the application packet must be complete before it will be accepted by the school office.

q          Special Health / Learning Information Form

q          Student Health History Form

q          Medical and Student Health Information Form

q          Copy of Birth Certificate

q          Immunization Record

q          Church Life Recommendation – complete top of form, send to appropriate person to be mailed directly back to school office

q          Application Fee - $50 per student (non-refundable)

Standardized Test Scores – Previous Year

High School Placement Test Scores - If Previously Taken
