College Preparation

It is my joy and privilege to serve Desert Christian High School as guidance counselor.  After feeling a clear calling from God to be an educator, I left another career path eight years ago to teach and serve in several different capacities here at Desert Christian.  

 

I believe my calling is to enable our students be successful here in high school and in their future paths, whatever those may be.  I want to help prepare our students for their future, be it educating them about financial aid, assisting them in finding scholarships or helping them choose a college and or career.  My role also includes providing support with academics and any personal, spiritual, or social problems.

I strive to connect students and families with opportunities and resources available in our community.  I love to see our students work outside the world of Desert Christian as well. One example is through my involvement with the Senior Expo program where students make an impact and are impacted by the people they serve through individually monitored projects over the course of their senior year.

 

The rewards here are great.  I am never bored.  The relationships I have with the students and staff have changed my life.  Desert is such an encouraging environment.  I honestly look forward to coming to work every morning, even though I’m not a morning person!
