Welcome from the Headmaster,

John O'Hair
Jesus taught that a little leaven affects the whole lump of dough. He was revealing the truth that little things can affect the larger parts of reality. At DCS we believe the truth of what Jesus was saying. We desire to leaven the lives of our students and in so doing leaven the whole of our community. We want our students to learn to think, relate and communicate from a Christian worldview.
Everyone has thoughts about their world and reality. Whether those thoughts are right or not is seldom considered. We want to give our students the tools to think, and evaluate their thinking using the word of God to test their thoughts and the thoughts of others.
All of life is relational! We want our students to learn to love people well. As God commands us to love Him and others as ourselves, we see three arenas where we must learn to love. Learn to love God by knowing who He is, what He is like, and what He wants. Learn to love ourselves by knowing and accepting who we are and what we contribute to our world. Lastly learning to love others requires we get to know them and meet their needs over our own.
Communication is the foundation for both thinking and relating. We want our students to be able to read, speak and write well. People who are able to compose their thoughts and feelings and communicate them to others will have a key tool to being able to love God, others and themselves.
We are not perfect in these things. We are growing and learning. This is where our community is headed. We know that if we are faithful in the little things we can change the world like yeast does dough. Welcome in!
